Plant here! Last few months have been real busy for me, and hence I haven't really been writing much here. But that changes today!

A quick recap about me - I started an educational YouTube channel in 2019 when I was in college (I am good at science with quite a few accolades).

It blew up, I expanded to other platforms (mainly LinkedIn, X and Instagram), launched my own education app/courses and I made my first million in my early 20s.

Business was going AMAZING in 2020 - I was pulling $100k months, and 90%+ of it was profit as I was doing it all solo and had to pay only for internet/payments handling.

From 2023 started a slow decline, which continued till 2024. Revenues were falling, my follower growth stalled, and I sort of gave up on my business.

I used to be a very aggressive marketer till then, promoting my app and courses the first thing in the videos, running discount sales every week, making fluff content in the hopes of appealing to the masses, heavy upsells, etc.

Little did I realise how much this hurt my business. I eventually lost my audience's trust and I only had myself to blame.

I was a bit depressed, and I did a lot of random stuff like buying a motorcycle, going on trips, reading books, investing, crypto etc. I enjoyed that time, and I forgot about my business, running it on autopilot - posting vlogs & videos without caring about the numbers.

And then something happened - my business started to pick back up slowly. My audience started watching me again as they loved my content on my motorcycle, my investing journey, and my less sales-y videos.

The sales started to tick back up, and I on pace to match my earlier revenues and follower growth.

Why? Because I was no longer focused on short term revenue, but focused on building a loyal audience that keeps giving me business. I was making genuine content, not just for the sake of posting.

You will live for 30, 40, 50 more years (I pray for more!). You cannot build your business thinking of the next few months.

In the long term, you will make way more money if you build something truly special.
